"Building strength and community, one posture at a time"
"To provide a unique, warm and calming environment to relax your body and mind and bring our community together. Offering well trained and qualified instructors to allow for proper yoga development, at affordable rates, with relaxed policies."
In 2002, Springbank Yoga began as a group of woman supporting a friend's recovery from breast cancer. The idea was to create an encouraging, strength building practice with professional instruction in a convenient venue, with reasonable rates. Practising yoga in basements once a week grew to more classes and more interested participants. In 2006, the name Springbank Yoga was introduced and officially began to run classes at the Springbank Lion's Hall.
Since then, our program has grown to offer new and exciting classes with highly sought-after instructors, now running out of the Springbank Dancers Inc. studios.
In the Spring of 2014 Sue Mackey and Trena Threndyle, founders of Springbank Yoga, decided to move on and have passed the business on to Devon Maillot (owner of Springbank Dancers Inc.). They plan to still be friendly faces in class and hope to stay in touch with many participants. We wish Sue and Trena so much happiness as they enjoy life's opportunities, other careers, and focus on spending time with their families, and traveling!
The importance of community support and offering a warm, welcoming environment remains close at heart for Springbank Yoga and its new Director.
